to find a qualified OR RN in Northridge, California, 91325! Job
Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty:

Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required
Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Experience in trauma,
orthopedic, and general surgery Description: The unit has 12
operating suites for general surgery, one cardiovascular operating
room, and one hybrid room. On average, there are 14 cases performed
daily. Registered Nurses must have BLS certification. Surgical
Techs must also be certified and hold BLS certification. The
nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1. Electronic Medical Records system
used is Cerner Surginet. Charge nurse responsibilities are present
on the unit. The on-call requirement for RNs is every weekend for
specified shifts. For evening shifts, call rotation is every fourth
weekend. Weekday call is self-scheduled, requiring 4-8 calls per
four-week period. There are two call teams: heart surgery and
regular surgery. The response time for call is 30 minutes. Holidays
include one major and one minor holiday in both summer and winter
months. Scrubs are provided. Telemonitoring system utilized is GE
Space Labs. There is a 24/7 respiratory therapy team. Pharmacy
services are available 24/7. Shifts include variations of 8-hour
shifts. Floating is not required for RNs or surgical techs.
Orientation consists of 2-3 shifts on the unit. Common surgical
cases include orthopedic (total joints), gynecological, urology,
trauma surgeries, ENT, general surgery, some plastics, vascular,
neuro, and robotics procedures. Travelers are not required to
perform cardiovascular procedures unless specified. Scrubbing is
not required for RNs but is preferred for skilled candidates. A
minimum of 3-5 years of experience is generally expected, with
travel experience preferred. Certification is required for sterile
processing technicians, along with two years of experience. Common
sterilization methods include high-level disinfection, VP Plasma,
and steam sterilization. Shifts are strictly 8 hours long. The
cancellation policy permits the cancellation of up to four shifts
per 13-week assignment. Charting uses the Cerner system. A BSN
degree is not required for this position. Trauma level designation
