primary purpose and function of the Tax Senior is to help handle
the Company’s day to day direct tax compliance and planning to
ensure timely tax reporting compliance, suggest effective tax
planning, drive process improvement, and to minimize tax costs and
department costs to the Company. Responsibilities Assist with
annual preparation of tax returns utilizing Oracle, Alteryx and
Corptax. Ensure the compliance process is working to deliver the
extension filings along with related payments for all company
entities. Maintain proficiency with respect to current tax laws and
tax law changes. CCH Tax Research service, and planning
opportunities. Planning may involve such areas as sales and
tax-deferred exchanges of real estate, business acquisitions and
dispositions, and tax minimization strategies. Strong research and
memorandum writing skills are required to help document positions
as well as correspond with external investors and partners. Help
tax team monitor status of electronic filing of tax returns through
Corptax to ensure timely filing / acceptance by taxing authorities.
Assist in preparing/reviewing annual partnership tax returns and
ensure that the related estimated K-1 schedules are issued to
owner-doctors by April 1 of each year. Assist with preparation of
real estate entity tax returns; provide real estate K-1s to
investors. In connection with the sale / transfer of an interest in
a dental or real estate partnership, as soon as possible after the
close of each transfer, calculate the year-to-date allocation of
profits to the selling partner, the partner’s basis, and the
resulting gain or loss upon sale. Engage in research, technology or
other projects as needed. Act as mentor, support, and assist in the
development and training of staff. Bring forth ideas to improve
processes and materials. Maintain an appropriate professional
appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policy. Ensure
compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal and
other regulatory bodies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 or more years of experience
related to corporate tax work. In lieu of degree, 5 years of
experience is required. Experience managing and coaching others.
Preferred CPA and JD or Master’s degree, 4 or more years of
corporate tax experience. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to
multi-task effectively without compromising the quality of the
work. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication
skills. Detail oriented, organized, process focused, problem
solver, proactive, ambitious, customer service focused. Ability to
draw conclusions and make independent decisions with limited
information. Ability to respond to complex inquiries from
customers, staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other members
of the business Ability to function effectively in various software
systems, such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Oracle and Alteryx.
